180,000 Marram Grass planted
To protect the condition of the dunes
The men at Van Aalsburg have planted 180,000 marram grass plants in the dunes around The Hague in an area covering 2 hectares.
The plants protect the dunes from the impact of wind and water and are therefore important for dune formation. Marram grass continues to grow above the sand. It is a beautiful and natural way of retaining the sand.
